So many times, I’ve tried to convince myself that supernatural forces aren’t real—that it’s all nonsense and superstition. We’re just ordinary human beings, born to live our lives and work through whatever karma we’ve got. That’s fucking it. And yet, time and again, I find myself face-to-face with things that science can’t quite explain.
Maybe part of the reason I keep telling myself none of it is real is that I don’t want to place my hopes in something I can’t see or touch. I don’t want to sit around waiting for some mysterious force to swoop in and save me while I do fuck-all with my life. Because if I went down that road, I might eventually turn into some superstitious lunatic who does nothing but perform rituals, chant prayers, and expect life to magically get better—like I used to.
But every time I think I’ve finally dismissed it all, something happens that makes me question everything again:
What the fuck did I just witness?
Take the Indian astrologer I recently met. I tried to work out what kind of magic trick he might have been pulling, but no one could explain it.
Then there was the monk who seemed to know exactly what kind of person I was from the moment we met. He even knew what I believed in and was able to tell me things about my own life—without asking for my date or time of birth.
I can’t deny that these things seem far beyond what an ordinary person should be capable of.
But if you asked what I’ve actually gained from these encounters… honestly, I’m not even sure. Do I want to have those kinds of powers myself? I don’t know about that either. But I suppose what I should do is pray and meditate regularly, just like the monk told me to.
I mean, the man could see that much—if he tells you to do something, who the fuck is going to say no? Hahahaha.
I have no idea whether any of this will lead to something beyond my wildest imagination. But at the very least, I suppose it’ll teach me some self-discipline.
Oh God, I’ve got goosebumps.
Not because of anything supernatural, though. I’m getting goosebumps from myself. Like—wow, what a lovely fucking person I am. Hehe.
