English Version
Shit, I just realized I never properly introduced myself.
I’m still trying to figure out this whole blogging thing—it’s my first time—but forgetting to introduce myself is genuinely one of my defining personality traits. There have been plenty of times when I’ve talked to someone long enough for us to basically become friends, only to realize that neither of us knows the other person’s name. We just kept talking and never bothered to ask.
Come to think of it, I’m a bit fucking strange, aren’t I?
Anyway, allow me to introduce myself properly.
My name is Harris Rtiwisith—or หฤษฎ์ รติวิสิฐ in Thai.
I designed the name myself, as one does when one happens to be an astrologer. I did get some help with the surname, though. My knowledge was still limited at the time.
It’s not that the name my parents gave me was bad. Well… astrologically speaking, it wasn’t exactly great either. But the main problem was its meaning. It never really felt like me or expressed who I was, so I decided to change it and go with what felt right.
I chose Harris because my Thai first name could be written that way in English. It sounded international, it would be easy for people to pronounce whenever I travelled abroad, and—most importantly—it had a beautiful meaning: someone worthy of admiration and delight.
But, but, but, but, but…
After using the name for fucking ages, I only recently discovered that I’d chosen the wrong Thai consonant.
The spelling I’ve been using all this time—หฤษฎ์, with ฏ์—actually means heart.
The spelling that means worthy of admiration and delight is supposed to use ฏ์ instead.
One tiny Thai letter. Completely different meaning.
I’m going to lose my fucking mind.
But you know what? It’s fine. I like the word heart too. I’ve loved it since I was a child, actually.
I’m sure anyone who doesn’t read Thai is completely lost by now.
And somehow, after all that rambling, I still haven’t actually introduced myself, have I?
Okay. Let’s start again.
I grew up in a middle-class Thai-Chinese family in Chonburi, Thailand. My parents were afraid I would have to work as hard and struggle as much as they did, so they tried to prepare and provide everything they could for me.
As a result, I’ve had a relatively comfortable life. I’ve been fortunate enough to have some choice over what I want to do—and what I don’t want to do.
That comes with both advantages and disadvantages, of course. But I’m grateful for it either way. Without that privilege, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here rambling at you like this.
I studied art: a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, followed by a master’s degree in fashion design.
And then I did absolutely fuck-all with either of them.
Once I actually entered those worlds, I realized I was much happier consuming and criticizing creative work than making it myself.
After that, I tried all sorts of things, but everything felt strangely empty. And I’m not trying to sound deep or pretentious here—it genuinely felt that way.
Was I really born just to work, make money, and repeat the same cycle until I died? Was that seriously all my life was supposed to be?
As I approached forty, I started asking myself some uncomfortable questions.
Why the fuck am I here?
Does anything I’m doing actually mean something to me?
I couldn’t come up with an answer, so I figured I should probably go looking for one.
I should say that I was incredibly fortunate to be in a position where I could stop working for a while and actually search for it. I have my family to thank for that.
And before anyone gets jealous, don’t worry—I have plenty of my own nerve-shredding bullshit to deal with too.
So how the hell did I end up involved in astrology and the occult?
Honestly, meeting someone who can look at your face and tell you things about your past and present is one of those wonderfully bizarre experiences life on Earth occasionally throws at you.
It was fascinating. And because I’m nosy as fuck, I kept circling around the world of fortune-telling until I eventually started studying it myself.
As for the turning point that made me take astrology seriously, I think that deserves a separate post. This one is already getting ridiculously long.
So, did I ever find the thing that gave my life meaning?
How the fuck did I jump to this part of the story?
But yes. I did.
I found it in astrology.
After meeting so many people, advising them, and occasionally managing to shake some sense into them, I discovered that the feeling was incredibly satisfying.
Fuck, I sound like I’m answering a question in the final round of a beauty pageant.
But it’s true.
The more people I met, the more I saw just how wildly different people’s lives could be. I also began to notice the things they were trapped by—the patterns that were quietly steering their lives towards complete fucking disaster.
And when I could warn someone before everything went to shit?
That felt amazing. Like I was part of some tiny, underfunded world-rescue unit.
Of course, I can’t shake sense into everyone. Some people are still going to stumble off in the wrong direction, and I’ve had to learn to accept that. Otherwise, I’d drive myself fucking insane.
That’s also why I want to write a book: something like a practical guide that ordinary people can use for themselves.
I believe this knowledge can be translated into something simple and useful, without burying everyone beneath a mountain of technical astrological jargon. It could help people recognize certain patterns in their own lives, at least on a basic level.
And honestly, not many people in astrology really dig into this side of things. Astrologers are usually so focused on predicting the future that they forget to ask:
What the fuck keeps leading people towards the same disasters in the first place?
So, that’s me—more or less.
It’s lovely to officially meet all of you: old friends, new friends, online friends, and friends I can’t physically touch.
And listen—I talk a lot of shit, but I’m not a shitty person. I don’t wish harm on anyone, so don’t be scared of me. But if you fuck with me, I’ll curse you.
